Topic Room 1, PhotoWorks

Explore the different methods and techniques used to create a photo realistic rendering of your SolidWorks model. Step through the creation of a rendering from the raw SolidWorks model to the finished photographic image. You will discover how RealView, appearances, lighting, environment setup, scene setup, camera control, and render to file functions contribute to the final result. Along the way you will learn invaluable tips & tricks. Leverage the presenter’s experience as a seasoned PhotoWorks user to help you create better renderings.

 
Topic Room 2, Sheet Metal

Discover new ways to model sheet metal parts in SolidWorks. In this session see sheet metal parts  modeled using the classic tools like flanges including some you may not have used before. You will also learn how to create a sheet metal part beginning with a solid part, In 2009 you don’t even have to shell it first!

 
Topic Room 3, Macros and API

Want to create a custom macro to make a tedious task a breeze? Get an overview of the SolidWorks API interface, including the recording tool, API help file, and VBA editor. Explore how to use the API to create custom tools and simple to complex macros.

 
Topic Room 4, Using Blocks and Layout Sketches

Blocks are not just for drawings anymore. Using blocks in your part feature sketches can speed up your designs. Learn how to design your assembly from the top down using a layout sketch to control the size and position of parts.

 
Topic Room 5, Design Tables, Configurations, and Display States

Configurations are one of the most powerful tools available to you in SolidWorks. This session will help you on your way to becoming a configuration expert by showing you how to control your configurations using design tables. You will also learn what display states are all about and how to use them.

 
Topic Room 6, SolidWorks to CAM

Become the resident expert on handing over SolidWorks models to manufacturing that will make the machinist smile (in a good way). Learn how to make your models Computer Aided Manufacturing ready by avoiding pitfalls in the translation to CAM. Also learn to identify areas in a design that are difficult, expensive or impossible to manufacture.
